Friesen's Climate Control installed a Keeprite high efficiency gas furnace in my bungalow house in the summer of 2023.Please be aware that, as shown in the picture attached here , the way they installed the furnace combustion air intake pipe opening is inside my house. The furnace gets combustion air from my utility room, not from the fresh air outside the house. Several HVAC people came to visit my house for other businesses. They told me that the furnace should be better to get combustion intake air from the outside, that getting the air from within the house wasn't very good. One tech guy said that the way Friesen's had done with the intake pipe opening is is a “very lazy” way.On February 18th, 2026, I emailed Friesen's Brad (the owner?) if they could connect the intake pipe opening to the outside of the house either for free or with a fee?The next day, a man who identified himself as Frank (the manager?) called me. Frank said he has been in the HVAC business for many years. He insisted that making the furnace receive its combustion air from the mechanical utility room inside the house is the normal way, and a newer way, to install gas furnaces, and it would not create a negative air pressure inside the house, would not affect the working life expectancy of the furnace. At the end I asked Frank how much money would be for Friesen's to connect my furnace combustion air intake pipe opening to the outside of the house? He said $650 plus tax.
See pictures attached, and be aware beforehand: that is the way Friesen's Climate Control installed the high efficiency gas furnace. The furnace combustion air intake pipe doesn't run from the furnace to the outside of the house and doesn't get fresh air outside. Instead, the furnace short white intake pipe sucks the warm stale air from inside the house. When I asked the Friesen's Climate Control to extend the short intake pipe to the outside of my house, they asked for $650 additional fees.
We got hot water tank installed, Travis Gray was the technician who was extremely professional, knowledgeable and honest (hard to find). It took less than an hr for the installation, and he has these mats placed all over, so the floor didn't get dirty. Highly recommend this company, from scheduling through Home depot all the way to the last step it was a great experience. They even offer EMT option.
I have found them through Home Depot to look into my AC unit for the new house I purchased. I thought it was not working and would like to either have it fixed or buy a new one. They scheduled to come in very fast. Kevin showed up exactly on time, and showed me how to operate the system. Apparently, the AC works. He is very honest and cares for the customers rather than making a buck. He also came in the next day to fix my termostat as well. I would definitely hire them again. Great experience!
They were fantastic, honestly.I called them off hours on a Sunday evening and I got a call back within a couple hours. They got out to my job the next day and did their thing professionaly and quickly. They have definitely earned their perfect score on here. Would recommend for your hot water and furnace needs. When I got a quote, they did do not have gimmicky sales rebates or condition, they just had the best price. Id recommend you shop around but Friesens still was the best.
