J.P. and Trent did a great job moving our hot and cold air vents and HRV as needed per the outline from Mark. Jody got them scheduled in quickly so we could stay on schedule with our project. They answered all of my questions and were professional. They also cleaned up after themselves and left no mess. We would recommend
I am very happy with the recent work completed by Weiss Johnson on my new home. I have two separate jobs that I am impressed with.First, I really appreciate Jaime Collins who came out to address some minor venting issues covered by warranty. He went above and beyond by addressing an unrelated issue regarding the humidity level in my home. I sent an email expressing my gratitude and I hope his supervisor was made aware so he can be recognized for this great customer service. The second job was a garage heater. I had Ken come out and give me a quote. He was very professional and not pushy. Ken’s communication was 10/10 including response time. He was informative and at the end of the day he got me a fair deal for my new garage heater. The installers were very professional and pleasant to interact with. They had answers to all my questions and they did a great job.Thank you Weiss Johnson for the work done. I will be using your company for any future HVAC needs.
I would not recommend Weiss-Johnson based on my recent experience. They installed an AC unit in my townhouse last year and modified my furnace and filter rack to accommodate the new AC system and humidifier.Since then, my child—who is very sensitive to dust has been constantly sneezing and experiencing discomfort, especially when the furnace is running. We decided to have our ducts professionally cleaned, and during that service, the technician discovered a large gap between the furnace filter rack and the furnace itself. This gap allows air to bypass the filter and pull unfiltered air directly from the furnace room.I hired Weiss-Johnson because they are considered a reputable company, and I trusted their work without feeling the need to double-check their work. Unfortunately, when I contacted them about this issue, they refused to take responsibility and are now asking me to pay for the repair.I have been using their services since we moved into this townhouse, and everything was fine until this situation. It’s disappointing that they are not standing behind their work and correcting what appears to be an installation error.
The technician came today to address the issue with the Navien unit. Similar to the previous visit, he stated that he does not know why the error code is occurring. He contacted what was supposed to be Navien’s help desk, and after multiple tests, they were still unable to determine the cause of the repeated 438-01 errors in the machine’s history. Ultimately, he reset the unit and left.He informed me that this would be the last warranty visit and that I would need to call for paid service next time. At the same time, he clearly stated that he cannot guarantee the error will not return. This is very concerning. He mentioned there was a small amount of buildup at the exhaust pipe and suggested that might be contributing to the problem. However, the error occurred yesterday when we had temperature +14°C with no snow, so buildup would not reasonably explain the failure at that time. When I asked what could be causing multiple 438-01 errors if not buildup, he said he did not know. When I asked why the unit is not being replaced if the cause cannot be identified, he stated he does not have the authority to do so. His only recommendation was that if the error appears again, I should try resetting it, and if it does not reset, then call for service. From my perspective, this effectively means paying service fees every time the unit fails, only for it to be reset without identifying or resolving the underlying issue. That is not an acceptable long-term solution. The unit is clearly logging recurring errors for a reason, and simply resetting it does not address the root cause.I am extremely disappointed with how this situation is being handled. A recurring unresolved error during the warranty period should not result in the customer being told to begin paying for service without a proper diagnosis or repair.Update: The unit broke down 4th time now with the same error code, and this time within 24 hrs from the time, technician left my house. All the hard work by your technician really showing how reliable the company work is. Thank you for consecutive heatless night in this extreme temperature of -30.
Needed a new furnace and had a great experience with Weiss Johnson starting with Ken who came to the house & provided various estimates and recommendations. Based on his responses to my questions, you could tell Ken was very knowledgeable. The installation team of Nolan and Nico were very good and had the new furnace installed & tested in a few hours as it was a fairly simple installation. They cleaned up after they were finished which was appreciated. I checked with a couple of their competitors and chose them because of competitive pricing, solid reviews on their installations from employee installers, and being an Edmonton-based family company that’s been operating for over four decades.
