After our main heating unit shut down, the week before Christmas, Bolls came to the rescue with a brilliant alternative house heating solution until we were able to complete arrangements for new heat unit installs. When this recent winter storm hit and we were able to test the operational integrity of the installation... it did not disappoint!! My family and I are beyond thrilled and pleased at how well the new units are performing at the most consistent functionality. We have never had the heat to distribute so evenly throughout the house. I am beyond impressed! This is the most comfortable I have ever felt as it balances itself out day and night. To Nick, Jace, Brian, Zelo and Jessica, thank you for the care and professionalism you showed when dealing with me and my family during a very stressful time in our lives. I am grateful. I can't wait for summer to test the new AC units! I wish my mom were here to experience this. She would have been thrilled. Thank you.
My furnace (heat pump) shut down unexpectedly right before a weekend of sub-zero temperatures. An error code appeared on my thermostat, but I did not make a record of it. I flipped the breakers for the inside air handler and outside heat pump. The furnace came back on and appeared to be running normally. The error code had cleared from the thermostat. I called Bolls, the original installer of the furnace, and scheduled an appointment on Saturday. When I called, I explained that there was an error code on the thermostat display, but it had cleared when reset. My furnace was still running at that point. The lady I spoke with to make the appointment informed me that it might be difficult to diagnose the problem if the error code had been cleared. OK, fair warning. I still made the appointment because I was afraid it would stop working during the serious cold snap and hoped a tech could diagnose the problem. The tech showed up on Saturday morning. He checked the thermostat for an error code. There was none. He stated there was nothing he could do, and that would be $150.00. That was ALL he did. He never even looked at either the indoor or outdoor unit to attempt to find the problem. A few minutes after he left, the unit shut down again, and the error code appeared on the thermostat. I called the tech and told him the error code. He said it was related to the blower motor and Bolls would likely not have the part in stock, sorry, and goodbye. For $150.00 service call, I expected at least an attempt to diagnose the problem when on site. Not just a peek at the thermostat. Needless to say, I called another HVAC company to take care of the issue. I will not be calling Bolls again.
I made the mistake of trusting the high reviews. I'm not faulting the technician here but rather the company seeing an opportunity for greed rather than trying to fix the problem.I have an older heating system in my house and it uses a modern smart gas valve. It's a $300 - $400 part that can be bought online. They quoted me around $300 for the part plus labor. When the tech showed up he said the part they brought wasn't the right one. I said that's fine just call me with the new one and we'll get it fixed. They called me back stating they thought it would be a better idea to replace the entire heating unit rather than the part as the part now costs $1700 plus labor. That's total BS and a lie. I can buy the exact part online for less than $400 retail. I guess I'll be doing the repair myself or having an honest company do it.Do not trust this company when it comes to advising you need an entire new hvac unit as this is purely a greed play and they know what they're doing. They looked at the house and thought oh this person has money let's see how much we can get from them.
Bolls Heating & Cooling showed up 1/2 hour early (8:30am) and had our new AC unit installed by 12:30pm. Laid down mats in our house so no tech would track anything in, and even repaired duct work for no charge! We were extremely pleased with their work and professionalism. We were given a 10-year warranty on our new AC unit, for no extra charge. The bill was what they originally quoted us for the new unit. Thank you Bolls Heating & Cooling, mission accomplished!
The team at Bolls installed a Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump and air conditioning system in my home to heat and cool our garage. From the initial sale to the finished installation every stage of the process was smooth and straightforward. I had a lot of questions and the sales team and the installers were all very knowledgeable and honest in their responses. Nick in sales and the installers Rick, Pete, and Richard were all very professional and did a top-notch job for us. I plan to use them again when we need more HVAC work done. I'm lov'n our new mini-split.
